Welcome back to "Ever After," where we dive into the magic of Disney one adventure at a time! Today, we're continuing our exploration of Magic Kingdom by taking a closer look at the enchanting lands that make this park so special. We'll start by describing each area briefly before diving deep into the wonders of Frontierland.

Magic Kingdom Lands: A Brief Overview
Magic Kingdom is divided into several themed lands, each offering its own unique charm and attractions. Main Street, U.S.A. captures the heartwarming charm of early 20th-century America, perfect for shopping and dining. Adventureland offers exotic adventures inspired by jungles and pirates, while Liberty Square lets you experience America’s colonial past. Fantasyland is the heart of Disney fairy tales, and Tomorrowland offers a glimpse into the future with sci-fi inspired attractions. Today, we're focusing on Frontierland, where the spirit of the Wild West comes alive.
Discovering Frontierland
Frontierland captures the rugged spirit of the American frontier, with its wooden walkways, rustic buildings, and adventurous atmosphere. It's a place where you can relive the excitement of the Wild West through its iconic rides and attractions.
Frontierland Rides and Attractions
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is a must-try for thrill-seekers. This runaway mine train roller coaster weaves through the mines of the Old West with sharp turns, sudden drops, and exhilarating speeds. Guests must be at least 40 inches tall to ride. The best times to ride are early in the morning or late in the evening to avoid long lines, or you can use Genie+ to minimize wait times. If you're visiting with young children who can't ride, take advantage of the Rider Switch program so everyone gets a turn.
Our family's all-time favorite is Tiana's Bayou Adventure which celebrates "The Princess and the Frog." Join Princess Tiana on a musical journey through the bayou, with delightful scenes, catchy tunes, and a thrilling drop at the end that will leave you soaked and smiling. Guests must be at least 40 inches tall to ride. This ride is perfect during the hotter parts of the day to cool off, and again, Genie+ is a great way to cut down on wait times. Consider wearing a poncho or bringing a change of clothes if you want to stay dry.
While not a ride, Tom Sawyer Island offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the park. Explore caves, bridges, and forts on this quaint island inspired by Mark Twain's beloved character, Tom Sawyer. It’s a great place for kids to run around and explore, especially during the midday when you need a break from the crowds.
Country Bear Jamboree is a classic Frontierland attraction that features an animatronic country music show performed by a group of lovable bears. It’s a great spot to relax and enjoy some fun entertainment, especially during the heat of the day.
For those who enjoy a bit of competitive fun, Frontierland Shootin' Arcade offers a chance to test your sharpshooting skills. This old-fashioned arcade game is perfect for a quick break and some lighthearted competition.
Dining and Shopping in Frontierland
When it’s time to refuel, Frontierland has some great dining options. Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Café is a popular spot for hearty Tex-Mex cuisine. Whether you’re in the mood for a tasty taco or a loaded nacho platter, Pecos Bill’s has something to satisfy your hunger.
For a sweet treat, stop by Westward Ho for some delicious snacks like churros and candied bacon. It’s the perfect place to grab a quick bite while exploring.
Don’t forget to check out the themed merchandise at Frontier Trading Post. Here, you can find a variety of Western-themed souvenirs, including cowboy hats, toy guns, and collectible pins.
Family Favorites
As a family, we have a special fondness for Tiana's Bayou Adventure. The lively music, charming characters, and thrilling finale make it a must-ride for us every visit. We can't wait to add Big Thunder Mountain Railroad to our list of favorites this November – the kids are especially excited for the wild twists and turns!
